After a superb summer of sport with distractions galore, it's time to turn our mind to the "real deal"
Yep the Premier League explodes back on the scene this weekend and as ever, we have a mouth watering season ahead of us.
Here's why we'll all be glued to the action over the coming months.
1. Let's start with last season. Don't tell us you've forgotten what a fantastic day the final games gave us. Survival for some, despair for others. Glory for City after years of struggle and heartbreak for United.
Anything that can produce that level of drama and excitement will do for us!
2. Eden Hazard should light up the Premier League. Not all imports come good in our league but he has genuine class and Zidane rates him highly.
Pre-season hasn't been great for him but if he gets his head right he will be one to watch.
3. We have always thought that Brendan Rodgers is a bit of a genius and last season showed what he can do with a football team.
Watching him try to mould Liverpool in his own image will be fascinating. He has far more quality at his disposal but will everyone buy into the concept?
If he can manage the superstars and the pressure for success then we feel the Scousers are a great outside bet for the league.
4. The Sack Race. No one likes to see managers cast aside after 5 or 6 games but it could happen.
The ones to watch?
Allardyce is back in the big time but the fans are not convinced. If he looks to be heading towards relegation early on, he could be gone.
AVB has a reputation to rebuild and will be under scrutiny from day one. Will he show his true self or suffer last years fate?
Roberto Di Matteo will have Abramovich on his back and although he may feel the football gods are with him, he will have no room for mistakes. Not only does he need to compete he also needs to entertain.
Good luck to you all.
5. A true 6 horse race.
Hopefully, the big 6 can all get off to flying starts and compete through the season but with so many teams in transition anything could happen.
6. Goals, goals goals.
Most teams seem to have recruited attacking talent which will be bad news for the premier leagues ageing defences and great news for fans.
7. Rooney and Van Persie stalking defences together.
Although we may be jumping the gun here, this partnership is mouthwatering. With Young, Valencia and Kagawa supplying the ammunition, the duo's battle for top scorer could inspire United back to the top.
8. Surprises!
In whatever form it takes, we normally get one. Will Newcastle be as brilliant as last year? Will any of the promoted teams stay up? Will Wenger play a 12 year old or Joey Barton close his Twitter account?
9. The battle for Manchester
Although rivalries are great in the premier league, the race between the blue and red halves of Manchester will dominate. Are the nouveau rich able to press home their advantage or will the old guard fight back?
Derby tickets anyone?
10. The Olympics is over!
We loved every minute of the Olympics but there is a major difference. We watch them to celebrate sporting excellence wherever we can find it.
On the same day, we can support Usain Bolt, Mo Farah and Michael Phelps and cheer for each of them.
In football, we want Bolt to lose because he's not ours! We want to annihalate Phelps and we want to cheer Mo until we are hoarse.
We are not really bothered about excellence unless it's our team who display it. We want to see the best yes but firstly, we want to win!!
It's back, hold onto your seat.
